Pistachio is a newly opened restaurant in Aundh. Just above Starbucks. The location is perfect and eye catching. The owner welcomed us warmly and we were in for an extensive tasting task as their menu is vast.
First came the mocktails. Mock absynthe has a nice green apple flavor to it and is served in three tiny shot glasses. Mock sangria has a strong apple cider vinegar kind of taste so I didn’t like it. And melon mocktail was sweet and decent.
Chicken nachos: They make their own nachos, which are thinner than I expected, but crispy nonetheless. With decent toppings and generous portion, it can suffice three people as an appetizer. We sure kept on munching this one.
Tawa fish: This dish really stood out because of the infused flavors in the fish. Fish was amazing.
Chicken Roulade: Soft chicken roll with filling, served with pesto sauce, sauteed veggies and mashed potatoes. This was another dish that we loved. Pesto fragrance was in the air and flavors were subtle and to the point. Some people might prefer more salt in the mashed potatoes but for us it was fine. This dish is not yet in the menu but they must add it soon.
Banana caramel cake with ice cream: Hot cake served with cold vanilla ice cream. The cake was outstanding. Moist, soft, hot and delicious. The sweet banana flavor was not overpowering and went well with the ice cream.
As a newly opened restaurant, this place has a lot of potential. They would be adding alcohol to their menu soon. I might go back and try their main course. Good for laid back lunches and dinners with friends.
