Three places to visit this month!

Pune has a good mix of students and working class people and the restaurants in the city are a reflection of the same. From street food to pricey, high-end restaurants, you can find your perfect meal as per your choice and budget here. What I decided to do was list my favorite restaurants/cafes/eateries for this month and share them with you. Here are three options for you to choose from, one is a small yet wonderful cafe which serves food well-suited at a classy restaurant. The second option is considered to be the best waffle in Pune, which in my opinion, it totally is. And last, but not the least, we have this beautiful restaurant with it’s vibrant decor, finger-licking good cuisine and it’s right in the middle of the city.

L’APICIO

A cozy cafe whose sole purpose is to serve you amazing food. A place which is apt for friends and families. Be it any time of the day, L’Apicio is ready to serve you picturesque food without compromising on it’s taste.

After hearing raving reviews about their food, I HAD to give it a shot! So one day, I just showed up for dinner and while I was waiting for my friend, I ordered a cup of Hot Chocolate with marshmallows. Oh boy, this is a cozy warm cup of love. If you are a fan too, give it a try because for me, I would list it in the top 5 Hot chocolates in Pune. They also have a peanut butter hot chocolate option.

For dinner, we ordered a Meatball, Mushroom and Spinach Risotto. Now, I am not a fan of Risotto but I fell in love with this one. This Risotto is rich, creamy, full of goodness and so delicious! It’s one of the best I have had in Pune. Honestly!

Next came in the Middle Eastern Inspired Chicken, which has Dukkah crusted breast, spicy muhamara, house bulgar salad and zatar dusted whole wheat pita. If you are a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, I would highly recommend you try this. The chicken was cooked to perfection and I absolutely loved the muhamara. Delicious!

It’s one of those cozy places where you feel like home, literally, and the food speaks for itself! I regret not trying any desserts here, but it gives me a reason to go back, which will be soon hopefully!

HENNY’S GOURMET

How can I not mention my favorite place in this list? Initially, Henny’s started off as a food truck on Salunkhe Vihar road. People were soon flocking here for late night strolls and their yummy waffles. Now, Henny’s is permanently located on Salunkhe Vihar road where the air always smells of delicious waffles. The number of people waiting outside in a queue way before they even begin to prepare their waffles should give you a fair idea of how amazing they taste. My favorites here are: Dark Belgian Chocolate and Cherry with French Custard. There is no need to buy a whole waffle, you can choose to buy a quarter starting at ₹60/-. No matter how far you stay, you simply cannot miss out on these gourmet delights. Believe me, the look on the faces of your loved ones once they bite in, will be priceless!

MAMAGOTO

The first thing you notice when you walk into Mamagoto is the fantastic ambience, absolutely gorgeous! Our spirits were lifted right up just by the feel of the restaurant.

A well courteous and friendly staff greeted us and we placed our order for some mocktails, which were soooo refreshing and delicious! Cheese and truffle oil dumplings were a novelty for us, but we got used to the taste and actually enjoyed the dumplings. Lastly, the caramel sponge cake was even better than we thought it would be. Such warmth in every bite, a must try!

If you are in the vicinity and enjoy pan-asian food then do give this place a try! You will love it!
